Spirit of Wisconsin Dedication Tour – 2019

On the morning of June 19, 2019 in Stevens Point, Wis., World War II hero Eddie Lamken was presented with the inaugural Dream Flight on the Spirit of Wisconsin. The 1942 Stearman became Dream Flights’ fourth in its fleet of biplanes and its first to be purchased and restored using funds raised by a local community. Eddie’s Dream Flight launched an 8-city tour honoring dozens of military veterans and seniors with free Dream Flights. Tour stops included Stevens Points Municipal Airport (Stevens Point), Waupaca Municipal Airport (Waupaca), Green Bay Austin Straubel International Airport, Chippewa Valley Regional Airport (Eau Claire), La Crosse Regional Airport (La Crosse), Dane County Regional Airport (Madison), and Waukesha County Airport. The Spirit of Wisconsin opened the 2019 EAA AirVenture in OshKosh with a Dream Flight honoring a WWII veteran. The Spirit of Wisconsin is based at Stevens Point Municipal Airport in Stevens Point, Wis.
